Intern Blog Series: The Importance of Giving

I’ve always believed in the importance of giving back to the world that has given so much to me. I have been very blessed as far as the cards I was dealt in life. I have great friends, a loving family, and have been afforded so many opportunities in which I have been able to grow as a person. Experiences such as mission trips and volunteer work allow me to look at life through the eyes of someone less fortunate than me and I am grateful for that. For me, though, it helps me to remember that these cards I’ve been dealt could have easily been someone else’s and vice versa. It is with this in mind that I choose to give back. The look on the faces I’ve helped and the feeling of warmth and purpose I had from doing so makes it worth it. The best thing about the giving back is there is not just one way that I can help people. I can donate my money, my time, or even just my possessions that someone else could get more use out of.
